Dumbfounded
Being a sports fan is a funny thing. Average people, like myself, invest theirselves within an identifying team for a variety of reasons but mostly for location proximity. I’ve been a Brewers fan for as long as I can remember, I’m only 22.
I endured the lousy 90′s with hope and promise that would never be fulfilled and yet I still followed. Hell, I thought Jamey Wright, Steve Woodard, and Jimmy Haynes would be a good rotation! Desperate times call for irrational thinking.
So, here I am on the verge of seeing ‘my’ Milwaukee Brewers on the verge of a playoff apperance. My hopes start to fade as September turns the page away from August. After last nights win things started to feel a little better and my hope started to come back. And, after having a 3 run lead with 2 outs in the 9th my Brewers still manage to lose and to the Cubs to top it all off.
I’m writing this because I don’t know what else to say. Mostly it helps me vent from my anger and frustration. With feelings like this I start to wonder if it’s worth it but that only lasts for 1 second. I smile and realize that when the hope and promise of World Series does come true and one day fellow fans it will, it’ll make it all the more sweeter that I endured moments like these.
Now, please Brewers, go out and get into the playoffs for yourselves and your fans. My hopes and dreams are waiting.
